Mumford & Sons Stopover Weekend

Lewesian Leathers are putting on 2 displays as part of the Mumford & Sons Stopover festival this weekend.  We're teaming up with Jules from The Silvery and displaying our wares in both the Grange Gardens and Cliffe Precinct.

Come along and see our products in the flesh (excuse the pun!) and have a chat. There'll be a chance to see some of our new products including some of the leather masks we've recently been making.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Onwards and Upwards

Things are moving on quite nicely.  We have a number of our bags in The Bedroom (Capella) on Lewes High Street and have a great window display in Lucy Wilkes' Print Centre on Station Street (also Lewes).

We've refined our range of products and are concentrating on messengers, satchels and totes.  I've also kicked off the first mens folio/diplomat case using a beautiful Zug leather from The Horween tannery in the US.  All of our current range can be seen on our website or on Etsy.

We've also started to look at other, smaller products such as leather 'cuffs', bracelets and keyrings.  Something really for festivals and smaller accessory shops.  Here's an example of one of our hand carved leather cuffs.

Finally, I've dabbled in an old love of mine - mask making.  Haven't made one for a while but was inspired by an extremely clever leather craftsmen I found on Deviantart.  Azmal makes the most amazing leather armour, some of which can be seen on current Samsung advert (chap riding the horse at the front).  So far I've completed a re-creation of an old design (black devil) and created a new design of a red dragon mask (see below).
